Brief Project Description

This project included the cleaning, gas freeing and removal of existing tank 618 (2500 bbl. jet fuel vertical tank), tank foundation, concrete containment and all related appurtenances.  Construction/installation of two new 50,000 gallon horizontal UL 2085 double-walled fuel tanks including foundation and related appurtenances on the same footprint. Re-piping of existing pumphouse to bypass the pumps for piping from newly installed double wall vertical tanks. Specific fuel system features also include replacement of butterfly valves, installation on new motorized globe valves, PD meters, meter proving connection, thermal relief piping, high level shut off valves, DBB valves, Electrical work includes electrical demolition, new pump controls and annunciation panel, grounding, relocating existing electrical during construction to maintain one tank in service, new UG conduits, relocated existing scully panel and cathodic rectifier, new tank level alarms independent of ATG, power to water draw off, Reliable and Argus developed a temporary phasing plan to re-pipe the existing pump house system, controls, etc., to allow the base to operate daily without disruption during construction.
