Brief Project Description
The scope was to Design and Construct a replacement refueler truck parking area with 18 parking positions and a vehicle checkout area located at Columbus AFB, Mississippi. The project included a secondary containment system, electrical primary distribution system changes, vehicle static grounding system, and parking area lighting system. The existing parking facility and the new parking facility site were demolished. Demolition included removal of concrete and asphalt pavement. The project included a new emergency shower/eyewash unit with an alarm feature and insulation and heat trace, a new electric unit heater for relocated Building 408, and new water service was routed to this building with a new 120gal electric water heat and thermostatic mixing valve; relocation of an existing 12470volt overhead pole line, a new pad-mounted transformer and a NEMA. The project included relocation of an existing 12470volt overhead pole line, a new pad-mounted transformer and a NEMA 4 distribution panel, area lighting, refueler grounding point and a secondary pad mounted transformed to serve Building 408. Two existing wood poles and associated conductors were demolished, and three new wood poles were installed to route the overhead conductors for the new paved area. Existing overhead conductors to Building 220 were re-routed to one of the new poles. Hot stick operated cut outs were added to the existing corner pole to provide additional OH/UG conversion.
