Brief Project Description

The project included demolition of the Flightline Fueling System.  The system contained 210,000 gallon cut and cover tank where fuel was received from a bulk fueling facility.  The fuel was then sent from the cut and cover tank through the filters to two pantograph aircraft fueling stations.  The system was currently out of service and had been drained as best as possible.  Work included removal of 210,000 gallon cut and cover tank, pumphouse, fuel piping, asphalt pavement roadway, a POL building and associated utilities, a 1,000 gallon PRT tank and two fuel pits, removal and replacement of airfield pavement and asphalt pavement at the hydrant pit demolition limits, final grading and sodding.  The project included Florida Department of Environmental tank closure requirements and final reporting. The project was within an active airfield and phasing was required.
